More From The Shop FloorThese examples show full product development and prototyping from scratch — not reverse engineered copies. The compact collage format keeps the visuals cleaner while still showing the development story from concept through to physical prototype.

These projects show concept development, CAD, fit-up testing, enclosure design and physical prototyping in a compact layout without overloading the page.

Magnetic PCB enclosure prototype

A clean-sheet prototype enclosure developed around a PCB, screen and connector layout. The case is 3D printed and uses a clear acrylic top/screen cover, fasteners and magnets so the internal layout, access, screen position and assembly method can be reviewed during development. The collage shows the concept-to-prototype journey with the CAD exploded view first, followed by assembled and fit-up prototype photos.

Four-image collage showing the magnetic PCB enclosure prototype in the user-requested order: exploded CAD view, assembled enclosure, internal electronics fit-up and front enclosure view
Four-view collage showing the exploded CAD concept, assembled enclosure, internal electronics fit-up and the finished front enclosure view.
  • Completely new product concept — not reverse engineered
  • 3D printed enclosure with clear acrylic top/screen cover, fasteners and magnets
  • Useful for proving fit, access, assembly logic and component layout before further production

Movie Makers modular collectible toy prototype

A full product-development example taken from ideation through CAD development and into a working physical prototype. The concept focused on designing a physical system that converts a paper product into a modular collectible toy.

Four-image collage showing CAD, concept and prototype views of the Movie Makers modular collectible toy system
Four-view collage showing CAD development, paper-product concept testing and the finished modular physical prototype.
  • Completely new concept developed from ideation to prototype — not reverse engineered
  • Example of designing not just a part, but a full physical product system with moving and modular features
  • Useful for testing form, interaction, assembly logic and real-world presentation before production decisions

FAQ

Can you design the part too?

Yes. We can help develop a part or product from scratch based on a concept, sketch, reference images or intended function.

Is this only for reverse engineered parts?

No. Many of these jobs are completely new products or prototype assemblies developed from a clean-sheet concept rather than copied from an existing part.

Can you prototype enclosures or electronics housings?

Yes. 3D printing is ideal for enclosure concepts, fit-checks, screen openings, connector access and internal component layout reviews.

Is 3D printing good for final parts?

Sometimes. It depends on the load, finish, environment and the role of the part. In many cases it is best used first as a prototype before deciding on a final manufacturing method.
